>>Don't like it ; too expensive for what they have. I go to Ross or Marshalls instead for that type of merchandise.

I like TJMaxx. They aren't expensive! I found a pair of American Eagle shorts for $3, and a jacket that was originally 100-something dollars, now $30.

I hadn't been to a TJMaxx in years, and then a new one opened up two weekends ago. So, I went in.
And that's the last time I will go. They NEVER take the time to clean up the shelves. It is impossible to find anything. I just get this weird vibe that they raided several people's closets, threw the stuff on the racks, and didn't clean any of it. I feel dirty every time I walk in there. And despite not having been in there for years, I was reminded of those feelings after going into the new store. It had been open for two weeks, and it was already filthy.
Never again.

TJMaxx is so frustrating to shop at. I hate it. Their stuff is mostly things sent to them that don't sell well at better stores. The clothing racks are always disorganized and a lot of the stuff is just ugly.

That is a fun place to shop because it is like a mini department store but you really find the deep discounts there. I found a Ralph Lauren sweater, original price $138 and I got if for $13. The clothes get marked down to $1 sometimes and you can find dresses for $5-7. The gourmet items are a real bargain and I have bought excellent cookware and gifts there. They always have designer linen, and pretty towels and rugs. If I need something TJM is the first store I go to because of the selection and prices. We have a Marshalls near the TJM so I go there too, but don't have as much luck. Always check out the jewelry case! They really mark down their items and you can get gold earrings for like $4.47 or so. Best of luck to you!!

depends on what you're looking for, and what store you go to.
some of the stores are great..............some are like being at the flea market or a second hand store. our store is clean, it's new, it's well run. i love going there for discounted purses or handbags.........and for housewares. they have great stuff in housewares. the clothes............sometimes the clothing just doesn't seem too fashionable. but, nevertheless tjmaxx can be a really fun place.

I love TJ Maxx. i get excited every time i walk in the door. seriously. you can find such great deals. definatly check the clearance racks. they have great designer brands for a lot cheaper than in the stores. like ralph lauren, calvin klein, american eagle, gap, everything. lots of nice housewares too. I would say the prices vary but are usually more than 50% off the regular price. the only drawback, and who really cares, is they black out the brand names on the inside of jeans or the tags on shirts are markered out. but its only on the inside.

They're like all the other garment clearance stores. Sometimes you can find good stuff, sometimes you can't. Their prices are similar to Ross' garment clearance stores.
Keep in mind clothes aren't these places sell. They sell watches, dishes, stuff for the baby, furniture, etc...

I love TJ Maxx! It is not the cheapest store to find overstocks, discontinued and slightly defective items, but it has a great selection!
