I feel like ebay is an infinite amount of hoops to jump thru when you sell so they can keep you confused and you make money for them. I feel if I could get on a forum there to ask question, and get on the right one, I could just ask as each question arises. any good suggestions from experienced ebayers ?

Your first responder (Deco) has the right idea, but the wrong area. She has directed you to eBay's discussion boards. You would be better helped by eBay's Answer Center, and here is the link:

http://pages.ebay.com/community/answercenter/index.html

The "auction listings" section is the most visited.

There is a very big difference between the discussion boards and the answer center. The discussion boards offer a little help, but it's mostly chat. And you're more likely to be insulted and/or get bad advice there. The Answer Center is ... it is what it says it is :o) It is geared towards getting straight answers to questions. Whenever I have a question I go there, and I answer questions there when I have spare time. I would suggest you go to the Answer Center with your questions, and then go to the discussion boards afterwards if you want to chat about it.

Always remember to take whatever you hear in either area with a grain of salt. The most experienced and knowledgeable eBayers are not going to be spending a lot of time hanging out there, they're going to be out making money :o)

I have found that by and large ebay's support sucks. I am a silver level powerseller and it takes them up to a week to respond to my emails. It takes about 25 minutes for a chat agent to connect to my conversation, and getting them on the phone is an absolute hassle.

I don't know if the platinum powersellers get better service, I should certainly hope they do given the money they are throwing at ebay and paypal, but I spend about $1000 a month in ebay fees (including the $50/month store) plus another $300 in paypal fees and I am just another fish in the sea to them.

If it is automated though, it works very very well. My business has done very well on Ebay because we are a niche retailer, and the exposure and variety of customers I've gotten has been very good for my bottom line.
