I'm selling something on ebay for the first time. The current highest bidder has a feedback score of -1 with feedback saying "do not sell to this person, they have no intention of paying". What can I do? I've never sold anything so, at the end of the auction do I have an option to sell to that person or go to the second highest bidder? It's kind of a big ticket item so I don't want to get screwed!! Please help!!

Kristin …

your "bidder" is most likely a NIGERIAN BIN BANDIT.

cancel their bid NOW!

this link will explain what i am talking about:

http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?threadID=1000396073&tstart=0&mod=1174267295655

you don't have to read the whole thing. read the first page which is 40 posts.

when you list any big ticket items, list as BINS with PAYPAL ONLY and IMMEDIATE PAYMENT REQUIRED.

if you want me to look at your bidder, email me and send me the item # and the ID of the bidder you are worried about. i can do some checking for you.

pay no attention to this stupid advice from bill:

"at the end, if not satisfied with the auction-have someone to bid the item real high, so that u keep it.'

that is called shill bidding and is illegal in all states and will get you booted from ebay.

Email the bidder with your concerns and if you can't get in your comfort zone tell them you will cancel the item, someone else may out bid the person before you have to cancel.

If I remember right you must cancel the item before the last 12 hours. You may also need to add that you have the right to cancel your auction at any time to your listing page with ebay.

Good Luck,

you can cance; that person's bid if you want to. Just like on the bid history and theres steps that will walk you through on how to do it. Also you can set sellers preferences that you can reject bidders who have a negative feedback rating. FYI don't click on any links that people may send you asking if this is the same item or something link that through the ebay ask the seller question option. If you do you will have to login again and once do you they will still your account info and hack your ebay and paypal account. Don't sell to anyone outside usa starting out and don't take checks or money orders. Ususally fraudsters pay that way. When a payment is made through paypal make sure its in your account b/c fraudsters are now sending fake paypal notifications. i hope this helps

I guess you answered your question...

Edit in your " DESCRIPTION" that you do not want DEADBEAT BIDDERS bidding on your item and the following bidder will win the auction.

Or you can say you will not accept bidders with negative feedbacks and the following bidder will win the item being auctioned.

Very simple. You don't ship the item until its PAID i.e. the check CLEARS or paypal clears. You can only get messed over if you mail before payment is clear. Don't accept cashiers checks from overseas by the way, they are often counterfeit.

at the end, if not satisfied with the auction-have someone to bid the item real high, so that u keep it !!!!!this is a vicious web-site.

next time---practice with something, not so
costly, so that u get the hang of it !!!!
I know, the same thing happened to me...
