I was just watching the 1st HP movie and I wanted to know out of curosity.

Yes, Dumbledore gave Harry the invisibility cloak claiming that Harry's father left it in his posession before he died. Recently, J.K. Rowling admitted that there is an important reason why Dumbledore had that cloak in the first place and she will not reveal it until the seventh book. ^_~

hmm, well from the books we learn it was Dumbledore who sent harry the cloak, Dumbledore had been given the cloak by James for safekeeping. I'm not sure that the movie tells you who gave Harry the cloak, although it might in the scene in which Dumbledore explains the Mirror of Erised to Harry.

It was something that Harry's parents left with Dumbledore and he finally gave it to Harry. I'm not sure if it's mentioned in the movie, but I know for sure it's mentioned in the book.

after voldermort killed harrys parents they took tje cloak out of the house, dumldre saved it fr harry until her was old enough. she said i during an interview and it was in a book
