Asia Carrera did (she was on my ivillage playgroup) when she was a few days overdue and it made her go into premature labor (meaning she was contracting, but her body wasn't ready to give birth) and she contracted for 72 hours! STAY AWAY FROM CASTOR OIL! It can cause explosive diarrhea and all sorts bad side effects for mama.

If you're wanting to induce labor, there are other things that you can try:
Sex (I know, you're laughing, right? But it started this, and it can end it! The prostaglandins in the semen ripen your cervix and can help you become 100% effaced.)

Red raspberry tea (this is also good for after birth, it helps the uterus contract back to it's normal size.)

Holding your urine (I know, sounds funny, but holding it can cause contractions, I found this out from my OB.)

I've heard that certain heavy foods can do it, like eggplant parmesan, in fact there's a restaurant in GA that guarantees that a pregnant woman will deliver within 2-3 days of eating their eggplant parmesan, or she gets a free one

I've also heard that pineapple can help too

Walking, lots of walking. Take a last trip to an outlet mall or a really big mall and walk through every store. Buy the last minute things you think you'll need for baby.

I was 38 weeks and it was awful. I had horrible diarrhea and I went to the hospital thinking I was in labor due to the cramping and it turned out I was dehydrated. They hydrated me and sent me home. Two weeks later I had a healthy baby girl.

DO NOT USE CASTOR OIL! It can cause the baby to have a bowel movement in the womb. This can cause all sorts of problems for mom and baby!

Please, don't try and induce labor. It will go easier on you and the baby if you wait until your body goes into labor naturally. My first was very late and my other two were slightly early. Your body just knows.

I did it with my first baby.. I was 40 weeks and drink it at 8:30 pm on June 25th and he was born at 6am on June 26th. He was fine and dandy!!! I have had friends who tried it also and they didn't get babies just upset bellies!! I really don't know if the castrol oil helped me honestly...I think it might have just been my time!! Good Luck and don't worry babies don't stay in forever...they gotta come out sometime!
