Do you mean the Iranian revolution of 1979 when Ayatollah Khomeini took power and changed the government to a constitutional theocracy? Or are you interested in the dissidents who dislike the present Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei?
See wikipedia articles and you tube videos below.

You mean Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979?
He had been in exile in France for some time, but his speeches were recorded and secretly distributed to the Shia in Iran. The Shah was an unpopular dictator in Iran; opposition to him got so bad he had to leave. Khomeini returned to Iran and became supreme ruler; and an "Islamic republic" was set up. In November a group of students (who didn't seem to have any classes to go to) took over the US Embassy in Iran, and took everybody hostage. (Ahmadinejad, the current Pres of Iran, was one of these.) Of course this is a major no-no taking over another country's embassy. This precipitated an international crisis, but eventually the hostages were smuggled out.
