Chances are you are not pregnant, however birth controll is not effective the first month you are on it, you should use other forms of birth controll duing that time. Birth controll has alot of different side effects, breakthrough bleeding is one of them. Until your body adjusts to the hormone's on the pill, which usually takes about a month, you may have spotting here and there. Good luck!

It's totally normal to get breakthrough bleeding during the first three months on a new BC pill. If you still have problems with breakthrough bleeding and spotting after three months, then you will probably need to change to a different pill. I had to try five or six different pills for at least three months each until I found one that worked for me.

Most likely you are not pregnant. Depending on what birth control you are using depends on when it really starts working. the nuva ring takes one week to work. The ortho evra patch takes a month and so do the oral contraceptives. Bleeding and spotting are very common when taking birth control.

It is a completely normal, expected side effect of birth control. Spotting is common for your first few months of birth control, and it will disappear.
