I was watching CNN yesterday for an hour. Not one single optimistic piece of news. China trade deficit is kicking our AZZ, the war in Iraq, the housing bubble and the mortgage subprime meltdown, just to name a few things. It was all depressing, any1 else agree?

News is always like that---- bad news sells. It works for the media, it works for politicians, etc.

Things are not nearly as bad as the media makes it out to be. Read a news paper from 1978 and you'll wonder how we made it to 1980.

We are doing OKin the US, not great, other countries are doing better here and there.

People keep moving to the US all of the time.

It will be 100 years+ before South America or Africa gets up to speed, so we have some time still....

The US has many things that we forget about in those reports:
-fresh running water
-government
-food supply
-roads
-an infrastructure
etc
