I dropped over to grandmas house and her cat is dying.
It has a massive tumor That i have just seen..
(note grandma never mentioned it to anyone and its on the cats stomach.. the cat lies down all the time so no one has ever seen it)
Its 8pm on a sunday night, the animal apparently hasnt eaten in 3 days and is now to weak to even move.
I have called every animal place around and nothing is open, and i am at a loss of what to do.
With the cats yelping, its obvious she is in dire pain, starting to feel cold to the touch. I dunno if i should try to put her down.
Then again, i dunno even know HOW to do it.
I am and have always been a animal lover. the idea of hurting a animal is sickening, the idea of killing one is even worse. The idea of hurting this cat is turning my stomach, but her cries of pain is breaking my heart.
But the poor cat i THINK is now blind as well.(note this is a 20 year old cat).
I am totally at a loss. Any thoughts?

the cat is 20 years old, all you can do is just try to hold and comfort her as best as you can. if you have some human pain reliever give her 2 pills, maybe this will help her with the pain. all you will be able to do is just comfort her and let nature take its course. i'm not saying it's easy, (in fact; it's hard as hell) but you can do it. just you being there holding and comforting her will let her know that she's loved and that she's not alone and also that it's OK for her to go. in fact, TELL HER IT'S OK FOR HER TO GO. trust me, she will understand. good luck and my thoughts are with you and her too.

I know there are rural areas that do not have emergency veterinary hospitals (I live in a rural area; the closest emergency facility is two and a half hours away from me). However, if you have the means to do so, even if its hours away, take your cat tonight to the vet. In the mean time, try to keep it as comfortable as possible: put a blanket (or something similar) over her, if she will tolerate it try putting a hot water bottle (with a rag over it so that it doesn't scorch her) up to her abdomen (lightly, do not push it up to, if the warmth helps the pain, she'll cuddle up to it), and if she not acting anxious (walking around aimlessly) place her in an open carrier (if you have a carrier that you can remove the top of it) or a box (sometimes placing them in a comfortable, enclosed area with blankets and/or towels can give comfort). If nothing else, keep calling Veterinarians until you find one that has an emergency number.

There should be an emergency 24 hour clinic somewhere near you. You can't do it yourself, there is no humane way to do it. Do the answering machines have a 24 hour emergency clinic number on them? Some vets will have an answering service where someone actually pages them. Try calling for vets in a neighboring town, if yours is too small to have an emergency clinic........good luck, this is a difficult time.

I'm so sorry to hear about the kitty! I had to have one of mine put down near the beginning of the year too, for a similar reason.
There should be an emergency number you can call.
I normally wouldn't suggest this. But the cat is old and is clearly not going to get well. If you can't find an emergency vet, you could dissolve sleeping pills in water and feed them to her with an eye dropper. When we had to take Shadow to put her to sleep, our vet explained to us about how he was just going to give her a massive dose of barbituates to make her literally fall asleep- and not wake up. It was the only thing we could do for her.
Again, I am so sorry. Feel better.

Take the cat to the vet! Now!
You will probably have to go to the emergency vet if it is Sunday or after hours where you are. Every community has an emergency vet that is open on weekends/holidays/after hours.

The vet offices should have a number for an emergency clinic. If they don't check your phone book ASAP. Don't wait for more answers. The cat needs to get to a vet so he can either be treated or Euthanized.

For now, wrap her up and placed her in the freezer till you be attentive to what you desire to do. in case you have an interest, ask your vet approximately cremation. they won't supply it themselves, yet probably be attentive to somebody who does. in case you will somewhat bury her, do no longer wrap her up in plastic. Use an old towel or no longer something in any respect. i be attentive to how puzzling it rather is dealing with a puppy that has handed on. we've had animals as lengthy as i will undergo in strategies, and all of them are buried in the outdoor, each and every with a memorial plant of a few variety.

You have an amazing tool in your hands---the internet. Search for the closest emergency vet clinic to your home and go---now. Do not let this cat suffer like this, please.
