i ovulated on the 9th and my period was due on the 16th, so i took a hpt on the 16th and it came back negative

....because i ovulated so late in my cycle, i'm assuming that it was too early to test, so when would be a good date to retest?

Yes, it was probably too early to test. It takes around 6-9 days for the fertilized egg to travel down the fallopian tubes and implant itself in the uterus. even if it only took 6 days, that means you would've implanted on the 15th...which means there wouldn't have been enough of the pregnancy hormone to test.

since you're already two days late (and especially if this isn't normal), you may very well be pregnant. I'd wait until the 20th and test again.

I would wait another 3 days. Get an early digital test like Clearblue Easy Digital. They work great and say the answer in words. Good luck!

you should wait till you are at least 4 weeks late other wise there arent enough horomones in your system to be picked up by the tests

the early detection tests work at 2 weeks late but i still suggest waiting
