This was a question that I have to answer in one of my college classes. It was posted as "why don't black people go to the doctor as much as other races" ? I am to write a six page paper with reasons as to why they don't go and some of you have given me my answers. THANKS !!!

Older blacks did not go the doctor due to not trusting the services that they (medical providers) provided. Many blacks recieve unfair treatment or no treatment at all for healthcare in the past. This brought about distrust in the black community. I do not feel it is prevelent today with people that are not as old, but for some of those people that remember things that happened in the 50's and 60's there still may be some reservation.

Why are black people any different from you? We, as African Americans were not and are still not allowed to grow in wealth, the way other races are. Bush took away our funding, and people like you don't give a damn. Little did you know, African Americans, not "black people", do go to the doctor. We may not be able to go to the most expensive and prestigious doctors in a firm, but we go, that question was ignorant. If you don't go to the doctor, for any reason, you make your question invalid and seem ridiculous.

Grumpy fiend, your an asshole. We didn't bring that **** in our neighborhoods. Others did, to keep us down. Thinking that someone actually gave a **** about us, we tried it, to fit in. To be ************* a part of something. You have a problem dude, I see we are going to have a problem. Watch the movie BLOW you asshole

LOL, who said that! I HAVE to go to the doctor because first off I have a skin rash from a bee, I have been tested with high sodium level and must have shots to see if I have it every 6 months or so. Black people DO GO TO THE DOCTOR. STOP MAKING UP RACIST LIES, YOUR ONLY HURTING YOURSELF!

Who told you they didn't? With all the people on hear crying about how the black people sit on welfare and run up healthcare expenses, that doesn't sound like a logical question. Also, there are tons of holistic ways to cure and heal, that does not include western medicine. Educate yourself, then post.

This question is pretty presumptuous on your part isn't it?
Of course black people go to the doctor......
There are black doctors also...

I hope your next doctor is black so you can see how much of a misinformed dunce you are...

Shame on you, racism is despicable...

do to the doctor? You mean go to the doctor? They do, I have worked for physicians for over 11 years and many of our patients are black and are seen when they need to be seen.

You've obviously never been to a doctors office, or a classroom to make such a stupid comment. Maybe you should try stopping by one from time to time.

I don't know; I'm white, and why don't I go to the doctor? Cause I hate doctors.

Your question is odd, and I suspect there is something wrong with you. Perhaps you should get yourself checked.
