How effective is the minipill while breastfeeding?

well i breast fed and was told the only birth controol safe for the baby was the shot!!

WELL IVE HEARD GOOD AND BAD STORIES BUT FROM MY EXPERIENCE I DONT TRUST THEM I HAD AN IUD PUT IN AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS
