Yes! back in 1971,I was camping out in a Oklahoma forest preserved. The first night we just put or heads down and we heard a noise outside by the SUV's a couple of us went out to investigate and low a behold there He was 8 foot tall about 700 lbs. and he roared at us,and we both ran as fast as we could to the vehicles jumped in started them and took off for the rangers station. I never went camping again.

No ,but as a child I can remember in the early 60's being in Arcada, Ca. and supposedly Big Foot footsteps were supposedly discovered just up north in in a town called Crescent City and it was a real big deal back then.
