I need a place where I can ask questions about old lamps, chandeliers, and other antique looking items that I am not sure what to do with them. I want to be able to replace parts but if they are valuable I DO NOT want to loose it.

This will be hard to do. Online representations are difficult to appraise. My best advice would be to do what I did--find a local antique store who sells lamps, flirt a little bit, and get in the door. Seems cheesy but it works. Then you can ask all the questions you want--but be sure to buy something now and then so they don't get tired of you!

Your best bet is to do some research on the internet. If there is some kind of marking to tell you what model it is, that is a good place to start. I have taken model #'s and typed in the model number plus the name of the item in Google and come up with all kinds of answers ie:
I have an antique sewing machine, I found a number engraved on it, I went to Google, typed in Sewing Machine model #xxxxx and searched on that. It worked great!
