She probably has restless leg syndrome. I've had it all my life but I thought everyone did. When I got married my new hubby didn't want to sleep in the same bed with me because I jiggled my leg all night. When it was real bad, I rocked my whole body trying to get to sleep. I now have a very severe form of Fibromyalgia and that is associated with sleep deprivation. I now take a product called Calm that I get at the health food store that is a form of magnesium that is easily absorbed by the body and it has given me wonderful relief. I've known for many years that I was allergic to caffeine and cut out coffee, tea and soda but now when I eat chocolate I have RLS attacks that take more magnesium to shut down. You might just try keeping the caffeine away from her and see if it helps but I don't really know if that is the cause in everyone or just for me. I hope you can help her as it is pure hell to have and not understand it. Good Luck and God Bless

I think maybe she is just having some anxiety about something going on in her life. Are you a divorcee? I have rocked myself to sleep for 35 years, I started probably about the same age, my mom and dad were getting a divorce and it seemed to help me calm down.
Have you tried reading a story to her before bedtime? That might help. and a good warm bath before that!! I hope this helps please let me know!!!

I don't think you have any problems with this as my children do it and have been since they were very young, the are now adults and very well adjusted.
I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.

You may want to take her to a child psychologist. She may
have some issue with her emotions. It may not be anything, but not a bad idea to have her examined.
