I had the same problem when i started using them. use a lower absorbency tampon. And relax a little. Use one with an applicator, and take your time. Put it in at an angle. Hope this helps.

i don't much enjoy tampons either, but like you said they is a time for one. i find sometimes it is painful too almost like its too dry?...pinches. with out getting to graphic try and get it a little moister down there, also make sure that you are using one with a good applicator, sometimes they can stick and stuff. at first i disliked the idea of not having an applicator like OB etc but actually sometimes i have more success with ones that don't. hope this helps!

Try using vaseline or some sort of lubricant (make sure the label okays it to be for INTERNAL use). If it hurts to go in deeper that's probably the hymen breaking, which needs to break sooner or later but it'll just be a second.

Insert widest end first....push gently the thinner outside (like an ice cream push up)until the inside cotton has securely entered. remove the exterior and most important- remove the entire plastic or cardboard portion of the tampon and dispose of it.

It sounds gross, but stand with a mirror in between your legs and follow the instructions on the box. After awhile you'll get the hang of it.

It might be the card board applicator is sticking. Try using Tampax pearl, or one with a plastic or curved applicator.
