no, youre not wrong. i think the northern population doesnt know the south even exsists. they are quick to take tax dollars, but wont sit down and eat cat fish beside us . wish someone would tell them we are not ignorant down here.

Some northerners have negative views of the south, but some southerners still hold a grudge against the north.
There are cultural differences between the two (I've never seen a bible group at Six Flags, MA, but they're impossible to miss at Kings Dominion, VA) but the number of northerners or southerners that have contempt for the other is relatively low.

Some southerners have contempt for northerners as well. I have yet to meet a northerner that I disliked. All the ones I have met did not show contempt. They were really nice people. By the way I live in Texas. Just a little southern...

No, we don't. True blue northerner here, but all of my family has moved south of the Mason-Dixon line within the past 20 years.
There are things that are far different in the south and it is hard for northerners to accept and adapt to. Example: the speed in which people, in general, move to complete anything. The southerners move at their own pace. Northerners move faster - perhaps it is because we are always freezing our butts off up here!

i cant speak informatively,im not even American,im way up in Canada.the furthest south ive been is los angeles.i can give you the general picture that comes to mind to the people i know,for what its worth.
when someone says "down south" i think people here envision lazy blacks sitting on delapidated porches in filthy cover-alls munching on a slice of watermelon.
white guys drive around in beat up chevys wearing trucker hats with the confederate flag on it and chewing skoal with a 12 guage loaded for bear on a rack in the rear window.southerners are also thought to be a last bastion of christian values and white nationalists.
i dont know if this is really what you were asking,but its what came to mind and im a stickler for honesty.i mean no offense.
