Most of the sites i've found are there to help me get a job. I don't want to post a resume, I need help in choosing my major.

Try this one - it's great

www.californiacolleges.edu It has a career component on it and it will also allow you to research majors. Then it will even link you to schools (in California) that have that major.

Good luck!

The US Department of Labor has a website on which the Bureau of Labor Statistics provides data for different careers. There is also a link to Yahoo Education on the Yahoo home page today that looks very thorough.

Most of all, decide on a career in an area that you are really interested in and are good at. Everyone wants to make a good salary, but don't let that be your main determinant. You'll wind up miserable and hating to go to work. Some people are lucky enough to know exactly what they want to do. To them work is like play. If you're not sure, there are books that will help you decide on possible career fields based on your aptitudes, interests and personality. Your guidance counselor or school library probably has some of these--I know the Books a Millions has a section on Career Guidance. Good luck in your search.

http://www.PrincetonReview.com has an extensive collection of information on US colleges, majors, and careers (associated with majors) as well as a brief career interest test. Career pages included possible undergrad/grad majors, median pay (initial, 5 years, 15+ years of experiencec), job outlook, and quality of life.
