In December, I was deferred (applied for early admission but was told that I was going to go through regular admission) from the University of Virginia. It is my dream school. I have had a very good first semester (4 A's, 1 B+ and a B in AP Calculus) but I was forced in my second quarter of the first semster to switch out of Latin 4 as I could not handle both the course academically for there was a test every single day but I had to help my family as my Mom developed cancer and my Dad had to move to Wyoming for a job to keep my family financially secure. I explained this to all my colleges. Do I have a chance? I know many of you will say that I shouldn't rely on just this college (I've already gotten two acceptances) but it is really the college I want to go to, ever since sixth grade. Seriously, what is my chance at going to UVA?

You should have a good chance of getting in although you don't seem to be an in-state resident and thus are at a slight disadvantage (a certain percentage of those accepted have to be VA residents). Again, you have a good shot as long as your high school GPA is reflective of your first semester of senior year but should focus on your school work and relax 'til the beginning of April rolls around. People who get deferred from early decision do get accepted by regular decision.

From UVA Admissions website:
"You may be admitted, deferred or denied during Early Decision. If deferred, your application will be reevaluated with Regular Decision applications and you will receive a final decision on or around April 1, 2007. If deferred, you will no longer be bound by the plan."

i do no longer see this ending nicely for you. BU is a annoying college (no longer Ivy League annoying, besides the fact that if this is aggressive besides the fact that if), and you're no longer in the middle fiftieth percentile even. Getting a deferral truly skill that the school is unwilling to take you suited now because of the fact they desire to attend and spot what the in many circumstances happening selection pool's credentials are. often, much greater scholars are deferred/ waitlisted than can also have a distant risk of having into. the subject exams scores do no longer prepare which you rather mastered any of those 3 matters in severe college, and whilst your A- primary is fantastic, it is not as sturdy as what a number of the applicants to BU are carrying. I recommend you concentration your interest someplace else. If this is your dream, then wait to work out what they say with time; merely be advantageous to pay a deposit someplace else previous to the might a million ultimate date or you threat no longer attending to bypass everywhere next 12 months. do no longer play that interest of risk with BU!

Your chances are good. Relax. You only have a few weeks to go before you get the final word.

If the college has all the information you've described and you meet their applicant pool standards (test scores, gpa, rigor of course, leadership, etc.) then plan to be accepted.

Hang on to your other two acceptance letters as your back up plan. And keep making good choices.

People seem to have a way of ending up where they are supposed to be. Good luck!
