the sound quality was perfect then i unplugged it accidently and now its of very low quality. What should i do? The only two places the volume is hooked up now is bettween the monitor and the tower with a green ended cord is it supposed to be hooked up somewhere else too? i have windows xp and have the speakers in the monitor.

well if you get sound but it is low, check the connections that the green cord is plugged in completely. if the speakers have a power adapter, check that too. then check all the volume controls, the ones on the speakers and the ones on windows.

i doubt the "power surge" comment is correct because you didn't lose the power to the monitor which is probably the same thing powering your speakers.
