Is it just me or are there others out there who are frustrated with the imbeciles that say, "THINK FOR YOURSELF!" YET , those types ALL think exactly alike and don't dare stray from the cliche idea of what is "indivdualism." Truly thinking for yourself means YOU actually think for yourself. Don't take on an opinion that is labeled, "non-conformist" that is still just molding to some other group's ideas. Just because it isn't mainstream dosen't mean it isn't conformity. Besides this whole "alternative" thing...has become mainstream.
Anyway, I just was curious on other people's thoughts on the subject.

I semi-agree with you on this.

Is there really such a thing as a "non-conformist" in society though?

Even if you do things out of mainstream you will fall into one category or another, no matter how well you choose to distinct yourself from the crowd. After all, individualism doesn't leave much room for innovation and as a race we tend to improvise on ideas moreso then create new ones.

It's the whole pack thing, if You have an opportunity watch fish swimming, they all turn at the same time but the ones that don't turn with the group generally get eaten by bigger fish. That's what People are afraid of, the estrangement of the group, it lingers in the DNA from early days of our evolution.

I agree--a whole bunch of answerers seem to be in a clique, and they do all ask and answer similarly. People should think for themselves, but the people who write that on here (for the most part) are not doing that.
