My son needed a new engine for his 94 sentra that had locked up. I found one, came out of a sentra that was stick shift, son's is a automatic. They are both 1.6 liter, engines look the same, but on the one that was a stick shift, when we bolt the flexplate on, it rubs against the oil pan.......is there a spacer that goes between the end of the crank and the flexplate?
If so, where do I buy one....dealer item?
BTW, there was no spacer on the original engine that we pulled out............................just wondering if there is that much of a difference on the clearance between the stick shift engine/automatic trans engines

I had that problem last year when I swapped motors in two toyota pickups, one was stick , the other automatic. I ended up pulling the oil pan off the old motor and luckily, it mounted just right, look at the two and see if there is a difference in shape, that may be the reason, hard to say without seeing it first hand, good luck.

If you have both engines sitting there... take a good look at both oil pans and see if you see a difference. If there's a difference, take the oil pan off the old motor, and put it on the new one. If the motor is out of the same year sentra, it should be able to support either transmission.
