I think people would yea, but maybe the best way to run that would be to have 16 people, each tosses in some money and draws a team from a hat. Just a thought. Or could always go bracket form picking winners I suppose. The full bracket with the 64 does work better if done from the onset of the tournament though.

probably not, considering many people are in the tournament actually for the earlier rounds, where the upsets must be predicted. once those rounds go, then form the sweet 16 and on it is basically just an added bonus

Of course more people will start now. They're more likely to be right to pick 1 out of 16 than to pick 1 out of 65.

I'd say no, it is against tradition, people already put in $$ for a first, and it is not as fun. The first round and second round games are some of the wildest and best.
