no, they are diffrent species of Rodent. Genetically and chromosomally they can not mate, I wouldnt try it and I wouldnt put 2 together Hamsters are solitary and Gerbils are social. They wont get along as friends or mates.

No. Hamsters and gerbils are different species and cannot mate.

Also, never put a hamster together with a gerbil. Hamsters are solitary and want to live alone. Gerbils get along only with their gerbil cage mate and can be very territorial with strange gerbils or other species. A gerbil would be likely to attack a hamster and both would be severely injured if not killed.
