I am just wondering, for those who use ebay and paypal have you ever had bad experience with either of them? Like i know paypal can freeze your account for no reason cause it has happened to me. And ebay fees just keep getting larger.

If there was a new site like ebay and paypal the was completely 100 percent free would you make the switch?

Just wondering!

thanks

I've had both for about 8 years and have been lucky in that I've never had a bad experience with either one. I've sold a few small things and bought a whole bunch of bigger things and most of the time, I've paid through PayPal. The only time I had a dispute about an item I had paid for but not received, I filed a claim through PayPal and got a refund.
I've never been frozen out of my accounts, but I make it a habit of changing my password every six months. I also know better than to fall for the "spoof" emails I get all the time that say they're from eBay or PayPal.

Save perhaps the disproportionately large volume of folks attempting a scam, I've never had a problem with either of them and their fees don't bother me.

I've read a lot of the reports concerning asset freezing, and most leave considerable question as to the ethics or legalities of the actual situation. I suspect most of the cases had to do with a marked difference between right and wrong and certain facts that somehow got left out, and if unethical or illegitimate methods are at stake then there should be no complaints about the ensuing consequences.

Perhaps paypal and ebay should institute certain methods that prevent said illegitimate acts in the first place, but unfortunately it isn't entirely their responsibility to ensure the rest of the population acts accordingly. While it would be a nice touch for them to help lead in the correct direction, I find reading their TOS and guidelines spells the terms out pretty clearly.

Customer loyalty in my case would prevent me from making the switch anytime soon.

Paypal can freeze your account for no reason which I hate. Ebay is fine, but if you are going to move high volume of products on ebay I suggest getting a real merchant account, that's what I am doing this week b/c paypal will take you through some stuff if you are making alot of transactions. But previous scammers messed it up for everyone.

at first, understanding you had bought something, it replace right into a splash remiss of you no longer nicely known the order. to boot, you're saying which you will possibly deliver the article quickly! what the hell does that mean? days, weeks, months? in my opinion, I deliver something I even have bought day after immediately. As to her claiming on Pay pal, this is nonsense, there's a set era till now which a declare might nicely be made. Which sensibly enables communique to ensue between shopper and enterprise till now escalating to declare status. As to Ebay and Paypal in many circumstances, they might in elementary terms be as sturdy because of the fact the folk utilising their provider, besides the fact that if it rather is genuine, that there is a arrogance and shortage of shopper help in the two events. I never use Paypal for receipt of cost, this is too open to abuse yet do use it for purchases. a sturdy place to envision out problems and the thank you to clean up them, is on the community Q & A's the place there are distinctive people who be attentive to their way around the device. In particularly some years, i've got in elementary terms had 3 undesirable bargains, none of which fee me money with the help of doing what I even have suggested before.

Definitly, Ebay and Paypal both have really bad customer service. I was just recently ripped off from paypal, all because a seller of mine sent my stuff to the wrong address. yet paypal would do nothing for me. Ebay and Paypal are useless, I wish they would just crumble.

In all cases except for 1 the problem was resolved. I lost the shipping money but at least got the money back that was paid for an item.

A 100% free site is interesting, however the provider will get killed by the overhead.
