We just built them, painted them and mounted them on trees. Is there anything else we should do?

Hi Figato,

Just be patient - you will get birds. It takes them awhile to get used to the new houses. This is a good time of year in the US to get birds to nest.

Good luck, they will come.

Put the house in a location that affords protection outside the house like trees. Also provide some bird seed for them. And I agree about the paint. Go natural. (I've never seen a bird's nest that was painted!)

omg. touch the humane society and spot what they say, or any puppy shops close to you. i think of they wld have the skill to offer you some nutrients quite made for toddler birds so which you will feed them(in case you have any thank you to get on that tree). or in line with possibility you are able to ask the persons there to in line with possibility do it for you.yet additionally grant them with some water. (if its no longer summer the place you reside) ensure you preserve them heat, because of the fact they're very fragile and want particular care. additionally, in case you are able to, take the nest down,(BE rather careful, the toddler birds might fall out), because of the fact i cant be a hundred% particular that there wont be the different animals that wld attempt to eat them(quite whilst their mom is long gone) listed below additionally are some descriptions(in case you wld have the skill to look interior the nest for the birds)- f the birds are totally feathered..they're fledglings, or birds that have left the nest on their own and are being cared for by making use of their mothers and fathers. Birds go away the nest until now they are in a position to fly and could hop around on the floor or concealed in a scrub jointly as their mothers and fathers feed them. if it is the case..placed the birds back the place you got here across them..the mothers and fathers are in all possibility searching for them now. you are able to place them in a tree or scrub the place they are going to be quite secure from predators. If those toddlers are greater often than not bald..seek for a nest and replace them into it if in any respect obtainable. If no nest could be got here across or reached..get them to a community organic international rehab for their terrific possibility of survival. remember having those birds on your possession is illegitimate, as they're secure by making use of regulation. do no longer problem approximately your heady scent being on the chicks..birds won't be able to scent nicely and could no longer abandon a chick that has been touched by making use of human palms.

try putting bird feeders around the bird houses, obviously it would attract the birds, but other than that, i dont think theres much else you can do!

ill warn ya, bird houses are perfect homes for a new bee hive!
so if you love where bee live, just keep an eye out.

All birds to not migrate(nest) in the same direction. Depending on the birds that frequent your abode, you have to angle and position the "houses" accordingly.

The paint may be a problem - the smell can be toxic to birds and they will avoid it.

the pain might be the problem because the smell is toxic or the color is too bright.it also needs to be in a high place and mostly in a tree, because that is so they can keep safe from other birds.

good luck!!
