I am going to Stockholm in July for 5 days. But I'd like to visit some other places than Stockholm as well. Which part of the country, or cities would you recommend to visit?
Note that I'm travelling alone, looking for both: nice landscape and great fun!

Snowman1234 & thor_gare,
both your answers were really helpful and great (and I really appreciate your help and those information !!!),
but I guess that I wasn't clear enough in my question:
I'll spend 5 days in Stockholm, but I would like to spend 5 more days in other place(s) in Sweden...

I was thinking of going to Gothenbourg or Malmö, but actually it doesn't have to be a big city att all, as long as I can reach it by bus or by train, it's cool.
Would you recommend southern/central/western Sweden?
Any suggest is welcome :)

Hi! Välkommen till Sverige ( which means welcome to Sweden ) .5 days isnt much for u to see but u must not forget to pop by the Nordic Sea Hotel to visit the Absolut Ice Bar,wer everythin is made from ice! From the walls right down to the stools,glasses..etc.Have brought visiting friends there, they love it!
I would suggest u book a hotel wer "Gamla Stan" which means Old Street where everything is.Gamla Stan’s winding allays are filled with decorative gift shops, romantic restaurants, and cozy pastry shops. Be sure to try a Swedish pastry or two while you are there :) A hop, skip, and a jump away from Gamla Stan is the Kungliga Slottet otherwise known as the Royal Palace. The changing of the guards occurs daily round 12noon and is quite a spectacle to see. . Unlike Buckingham Palace, visitors are not constrained by a gate. Also within close proximity is the open-air folk museum Skansen. You’ll gain a genuine admiration for Swedish culture after browsing Skansen. Skansen hosts spirited festivals, live concerts, and folk dancing amongst numerous other activities.
In addition to having superb shopping, lively festivals, and royal palaces, Stockholm is home to a slew of world-class museums including the famed Vasamuseet, which showcases the world’s oldest ship, the Royal Warship Vasa.

Also, u must visit Skansen, its an open air museum , one of the oldest in the world.More then 150 dwellings were relocated from all over Sweden to Skansen where they are scattered over 30 hectares (75 acres). The majority of which are from the 18th and 19th centuries. Each dwelling contains various exhibits. Windmills, a manor house, and a complete town quarter are amongst those on display. Swedish craft making such as glass blowing and weaving are also demonstrated. Evenings in Skansen can be lively. Folk dancing and live concerts are popular activities. During the summer international stars often perform at Skansen. If you get hungry you will have no problem finding something tasty to eat. There are dozens of vendor shops.I would suggest u buy a map that shows all the tourist spots when u arrive.Oh also, if u wanna visit the club wer most celebrities go party when they are in Stockholm,u shud head to "Cafe Opera".The thing bout Sthlm is, u get beautiful landscapes within the city itself.U picked a good destination as Sthlm was Chosen best city in Europe before :) Lycka Till!

U can check the sites below for more info on the locations that i've mentioned.

That's a big question and very subjective.

I'd also include Norway in your wishlist as it has exceptional scenery, but 5 days is your big restriction - but understand that this may take Norway off of the "menu". Scandanavia is BIG and diverse with fjords in the West, the Artic in the North and varying cultures and scenery. All are a must see - so a difficult choice is ahead:)

Firstly, delve into the well researched National Tourism websites for Sweden and Norway [ link access below ]. You'll find that the most popular aspects are promoted well which will help you choose better and there are a lot of further questions that can be answered here.

Then make sure that you choose accommodation located well to save on your valuable time and perhaps expenses. The pages i have linked to below allow you to sort by location, star rating , last minute or year round, and price.

I hope this all helps
