I heard there was NOT a need for elementary teachers in Michigan...does that go for Detroit also (it wouldn't seem like it to me anyway). I know things such as special ed. teachers are always in need but what about plain old elementary school teachers in Detroit? Is there a need.....

There is a shortage in Detroit for teachers with special certifications such as science, math, special ed, and foreign language skills. But the Detroit Public Schools are in serious financial crisis and the system is losing thousands of students each year. You can check out all available job openings with them at the link below.
