Creating a resume, I havent created one for about 5 yrs and it seems I am getting all this different advice as to what is correct or not, can someone recommend a website that will help me get started with this project so that It won't be too long or too short, or otherwise, thanks.

Only take advice from a hiring manager or someone in HR. Anyone else is probably well meaning but doesn't get it. Before I was in HR I had someone write my resume for me, because she did that for a living. Then I found out from a hiring manager it was a really bad resume, that happened because she was not the hiring expert, just someone who likes to make things look really good.

Some tips for you:
- Use boring fonts like Times New Roman or Arial - those can be read on any computer, but feel free to use the bold, italics or underline features as needed
- One page is best, but two pages is acceptable depending on the level of experience you have
- Use bullet points in place of complete paragraphs, you can get more information into the resume and it's easier to read
- Toot your own horn! Show your accomplishments and use #'s, %'s and $'s to show how you change and improved things
- Include your references (5-7) in the resume, most people say wait, but it's really nice to have it all in one package. And references do not make the resume look like it's two or three pages long. You want to include extra references in case people are out of town or not in a situation in which they can return a call right away, which means 5-7.

I hope this helps!

Your old resume pattern will do. Most companies will want you to complete an application, so that all applicants' abilities can be assessed with regards to the features/experiences they are interested in.
