Do not put gasoline on your lawy and set it afire this will not do what you want to do. What it will do is leave residue from the gasoline and kill your new sod. You have to kill the roots befor youi can get rid of the old grass and weeds. Your best bet is to remove the old sod. I dont know of any thing that will kill the old one that is not chemical based and that will not kill your new sod. Short of removing the old I dont know of any way you can do this without affecting the new sod.

nicely see you later as you at the prompt are not living in a really dry united states: Water the grass with salty water a number of circumstances. Dilute salt in lifelike concentration like a million ounce (or more beneficial) for 4-5 gallons of water. The grass will turn yellow and dried in some days. over the years, rain and watering with clean water will wash the salt away. careful now to not positioned too a lot salt, the more beneficial concentration you pour the more beneficial infertile the soil.

If you need it done FAST. You can get or rent a sod cutter and cut it out roots and all. I would not recommend gasoline. You can also wait 2 weeks to re-sod and use Roundup, a lot less labor intensive.
