I am still waiting for the ICE AGE the enviro-nuts told my 7 year old self back in the 70's was just around the corner.

Were they wrong THEN or NOW OR BOTH ??

What will happen next? Will the Planet Venus explode if I don't stop spanking my pet monkey?

I don't believe any of the so-called scientists know exactly what is going on ... Global Cooling, Global Warming ... Global Whatever the Next Trend Is ...

I know there is some global warming because I am not sitting on the banks of a glacier. But I haven't been convinced MAN is responsible ...

And watch that spanking your monkey, if Venus doesn't explode, Mars might.

I also Remember the talk of a second ice age coming up back in the 70's . Also a few weeks back Dennis Miller came on the Tonight Show and brought a news magazine from the 70's with an article asking if the earth was getting too cold.

you are exactly right.. around 20-30 years ago everyone thought the world was cooling, now its global warming. Nobody can really predict what will happen. All i can say it everything is blown way out of proportion and there is no way humans are responsible for the warming of the earth. Maybe a very small % but that is it. The world changes over time. Look at the history of our planet. It has gone through many stages and will probabaly go through many more long after we are gone. I just have 2 things to say to the global warming crowd. 1. if humans are to blame, then why is everyone going after the united states and leaving other countries out of the restrictions?? the answer.. politics.. Global warming is just another scare tactic to use to control our lives. Also, 2. if you are severious about global warming, then why do most of the leaders of this movement (such as al gore) not practice what they preach. They are out using all kinds of power, flying around, eating out, and wasting energy, but they tell everone else not to do so?? go figue.. and i know they say they use carbon credits.. but that is a bunch of crap.. They only say that to make themselves feel better

Britian produced a documentary called , "The Great Global Warming Swindle". It is not broadcast by the biased liberal media in the U.S. ; but may be on the Internet .Distinguished CLIMATE scientists expose the fraud perpetrated by the Hollywood left & the radical liberal democrats .Top scientists are coming out to say that they did not participate in these media promos their names were included on - which they have neither wrote , nor approved of . One scientist threatened to sue unless his name is removed from the global warming hoax . They say the official reports from the U.S. or National Academy of Sciences , are written by bureaucrats- adding so & so was consulted - but whose CONTRARY CONCLUSIONS HAVE BEEN IGNORED IN THE REPORT . The hysteria was wrong centuries ago - as well as now .

standard of living will delcine, taxes will increase, cost of living,

I think that the science involved is quite complex because it involves many different disciplines and thus the conclusions now are much more reliable than those of 20 years ago.

At the time you are talking the science was all new; i.e., that was when climate science started.

Now, serious research money has been invested and the flaws in the original research has been found.

Alot of people such as those at B.P. (an oil company) are taking it seriously.
