Age and wisdom do not always go hand in hand. I have known young people who were very wise, and older people who were certainly not. I think wisdom is a thing you have to work toward, or else be blessed with. It doesn't just pop up on its own.

Well, a lot of older people think they know more and become condescending to younger people who they assume don't know much. It takes the right attitude to take in wisdom, and it's usually humbling circumstances and events that allow people to learn those lessons. A lot of these older people are snotty because they've never been through anything hard in their lives, so they've never had to learn lessons. I've met very wise teenagers, and empty-headed middle-aged people before too, so it definitely all depends on what people have been through.

I've seen "older" people do incredibly "stupid" things. You are totally in the right. Age, I'm afraid, has nothing to do with "wisdom." Ok, granted an older person may have "experienced" a lot in this life. "Experience" doesn't make one necessarily "wise." Hence the words, "Old fool." :)

Contrary to what us older folks would have you believe, Age is no real guarantee of wisdom :-)
If we can manage to keep an open mind, and accept that wisdom comes with learning and listening, maybe we'll get there. I've probably learned more from under 25's than I ever learned from my own age group. It's certainly been much more interesting :-) (more ideas, opinions, insight - less rhetoric)

Age is not always a good indicator of maturity. I've known slacker pot-heads in their 50's who act/think/feel like teenagers. I've known teens who lived hard lives and are very mature. Age don't always mean anything.

Ah, but older people are very wise. They just get alot of deeper stuff that younger people don't. Ever hear "youth is wasted on the young". That's because older people get what life is truly about. Love, family, faith, goodness. Not stuff.

Before you question the intelligence of others, proofread your question, and try again. "less wiser"?
