"Grub Killer Plus" by Bayer Advanced, is the fastest acting insecticide for grubs on the market. It contains "Dylox" and is available from Lowes, Walmart, Home Depot etc.. Dylox kills mature Japanese beetle grubs on contact overnight. It has no residual effect and is best applied when the grubs are near the surface in early fall and spring.

"Dylox" is effective anytime and you don't have to "wait" until the ground warms up like other products. Here is a link with info.. hope this helps..

Grub Ex has always worked for me. Just be patient and wait until the soil is warm enough or you'll be wasting your money. In the northern United States and Canada, people always want to use grub treatments as soon as the snow melts. It won't be effective unless it's applied mid-May at the earliest. The other trick is not to skip a year. Like fertilizer, if you live in an area with grubs, this should be part of your regular annual program.

I hate to advocate pesticides, but with Grubs, well, any one who tell you Grub -ex or Dylox is not wrong.
The only other thing I could suggest is to bring sample grubs to the local University for evaluation and then get a pesticide specific to your personal grub. That way you are not doing a slash and burn of all the insects in your yard.
Many of those are beneficial and preventing infestation of bad insects

They sound like cut worms. They will always be there and they are the kind that chew the roots of plants but they are unlikely to cause any noticeable damage, so just let them live there as part of the living soil. They are food for birds so they are important to attract the birds who will also eat the caterpillars from the garden which are far more damaging. Well done...

I try to hand pick all japanese beetles and knock them into a can of soapy water. Also I do not discourage moles or skunks in my yard. That keeps grubs down to a minimum.
