ive noticed a lump just above my penis, its red and it hurts if i touch it, anyone know what it could be?

If it's in the pubic area, it could be a pimple or cyst. They can get pretty big and painful in the nether regions. Try keeping it really clean and dry and see if it clears up. If it doesn't get better in a few days, have someone look at it.

It couple be a cyst or even just a pimple. But if it's very painful it may very well be herpes if you are or have been sexually active.
Visit you're doctor. Even if it clears up in a few days you'll want to be sure. Herpes can clear in a few days and come back. It's better to be safe and be sure so get a doctor to look at it. Even if you're uncomfortable with exposing yourself to a stranger, remember they are a professional and they won't judge you in any way, they'll just want to help.
