If you're looking for rock:
Neutral Milk Hotel- In the aeroplane over the sea
Mogwai- Glasglow mega-snake
Ratatat- Lex
Wolf Parade- Shine a light
Band of Horses- The funeral
Broken Social Scene- Cause = time
Or something more experimental:
Animal collective- The purple bottle
Do make say think- Fredericia
Sigur Ros- Saeglopur
Explosions in the sky- Your hand in mine
Also this site has a ton of songs to download, but not all of it is that great.

Try finding some Camouflage songs, they're really good despite the bad luck the band had over the years.
I think The Great Commandment is their best known track.
They're a German band of synth-pop, very much like Depeche Mode.
Also try Ultravox, I don't know if you heard of Dancing With Tears In My Eyes.
The Human League are good too! I, for one, love the song Human.
Oh, and you should search for Icehouse too! Australian band formed in '77 (some songs: Crazy, Hey Little Girl, Great Southern Land, Street Cafe, Electric Blue, No Promises etc...).
And look up for Spandau Ballet - Gold, it's my new obsession this week! :)
Hope you'll like them!

I don't listen to the radio because they don't really play anything good so I doubt any of my suggestions are played on the radio and what not. Some are more known than others. I know you don't have a preference on genre or era so:
Band....Song
76% Uncertain...I hate the radio
Transplants...Diamonds and Guns
Rancid...Time Bomb
Torn...Broken
Pantera...Walk
Living Legends...Moving at the Speed of Life
