I have heard that they aren't. A lot of people are saying they are slowly coming away from the market, they haven't had any commercials lately either. They are falling apart pretty quickly as a company.

Gateway makes computers that are good for a while, they aren't good for photo editing and video unless you ask for it especially. Gateway is slowly winding away to nothing, and Dell is planning a corporate take over to make the Dell G series, which is a Dell with all of the positive parts of the Gateway, this buyout might not take effect until early 2008. But the answer to your question is yes, so long as your not a student or a photo/web editor.
