From the TimesOnline...
MOST Iraqis believe life is better for them now than it was under Saddam Hussein, according to a British opinion poll published today.
The survey of more than 5,000 Iraqis found the majority optimistic despite their suffering in sectarian violence since the American-led invasion four years ago this week.
One in four Iraqis has had a family member murdered, says the poll by Opinion Research Business. In Baghdad, the capital, one in four has had a relative kidnapped and one in three said members of their family had fled abroad. But when asked whether they preferred life under Saddam, the dictator who was executed last December, or under Nouri al-Maliki, the prime minister, most replied that things were better for them today.
Only 27% think there is a civil war in Iraq, compared with 61% who do not, according to the survey carried out last month.

By a majority of two to one, Iraqis believe military operations now under way will disarm all militias. More than half say security will improve after a withdrawal of multinational forces.
Margaret Beckett, the foreign secretary, said the findings pointed to progress. “There is no widespread violence in the four southern provinces and the fact that the picture is more complex than the stereotype usually portrayed is reflected in today’s poll,” she said.

That's a BIG lie to spread Iraqis satisfaction with current situation.
The US administration along the pro zionist Media are imply exactly the opposite ,continuing the path of lies and deceits it began before invading a sovereign country.
NO Iraqi is happy with foreign invaders, and they will resist just like resisted Genghis Khan and subsequently survived...

People that want the U.S. to succeed already know that. Iraq has been liberated and the people of Iraq are grateful to the U.S.A. for that. I was in the Marine Corps from 1983-1990. I stay active with a lot of Military organizations ( VFW-American Legion-Metro Marines ) etc. Talking to the returning soldiers is uplifting, they know there is progress. All liberal media outlets only report one side of the story, it helps their agenda.
It's to bad some of these left wingers don't take off the blinders and get informed. They ride around with their "anyone but Bush" bumper stickers and wonder why nobody takes them serious.

How can we expect a pathetic liar to stop lying?
There is no WMD in IRAQ
There was no AlQaeda in Iraq.
The US and its allied tails created a civil WAR.
That civil WAR is still waging and intensifying day by day despite the "surge"..
Stop your NEOCON lying machine, you are a disgrace to the truth!

CNN is produced by liberals as is many other news sources. Their stories are politically motivated to fufil an agenda of some sort. Unless you have been there, shut your mouth and sit back and drink your Starbucks or go to the mall and buy shoes with lights in them and let the professionals handle it.
Oh yeah, why doesn't CNN ever tell you how many hospitals and schools we have built for the iraqis and that they have more clean water and electricilty than ever before. Food inspection is much better now and child mortality rates are at all-time lows.

I think most Iraqis are optmistic because they free, at least they are free to flee the country, a thing which was denied to many in Sadaam's time. Besides, don't forget that the situation in north of Iraq is really improving and in the south it is much more better than what it was in 2003. I'm not optimistic myself, but I understand how poeple think after the fall of Sadaam's police state.

Wouldn't it be embarrassing and awkward if they admit after all the blood shed that things are worst than with Saddam?
P.S. Look at the mess Iraq is in. They (the Iraqis) are killing each other over religious differences and as soon as the USA moves out, it will be a matter of time for the clerics to establish Islamic rule and kick democracy out of the window. Time will show.

They aren't getting their news from CNN. They are living with the situation today and have lived with it under Evil Hussain.
Therefore they are more credible that CNN.
