one of my mollies died ! and i have no clue why or how! she was perfectly fine one day. then during a time of 4 days.. she seemed to get weaker and wekare and she kept to a corner by herself. but she wasnt pregnant or anything. it also seemed as if she was having trouble swimming. she would swim a little.. then sink a little.. swim a little.. sink a little. she ate normally and pooped normally. this happend to one of my other sunburst molly. :[ any thought of what and how it happend?

errm. There is sometimes no reason for death. I wouldn't worry too much if you have any others in the tank. clean the tank out after a fish dies! It helps other fish adapt sounds strange but works

Yes, being that we really know so little about fish - can't take them to the vet etc, there is often a lot of unexplained deaths. Also, if you get your fish from a pet shop, there's usually no way of knowing how old it is when you bought it - it may have been an older fish when you got it. Like us, they dont live forever - sad but true!

I am sorry to hear about your molly.

How long was your tank up and running prior to getting your fish? Was it cycled? Also, what was your water testing at? Temperature? Sounds like your tank wasn't fully cycled....and she was suffering from ammonia poisoning.

Also, sometimes, fish do die for no apparant reason. Could have been from stress or just PH in the tank. Feel free to email me and let me know, and I will try to help you from there.
