What I don't get even more is Why would a mom want to be in on that celebration? It usually is the other way around, the adult children give a party for the parents who are celebrating the 25th or the 50th. Will others be at your celebration? like children? siblings? or friends?. If not, then i do think it is kindof strange. However if you are not too upset by it, then whats the big deal, let it happen. You can always celebrate with just the two of you later. Two partys Yeah!!!!!!!

Tell him how you feel; alot of times men are just clueless about situations like that. If that doesn't work maybe a night out before the anniversary with his mother along, for a family outing to celebrate. To last 25 years you must know that compromise is very important in a relationship.

oh dear poor you!
Here is a diplomatic way to deal with this ...
Why don't you have two celebrations or functions? A daytime lunch or function where your mother in law is made to feel special and part of the celebration.
And a more intimate affair of some kind for just the two of you?
If you are talking about a big party family and friends celebration, then your mother is invited along with everyone else and the focus is on you with his mother being alongside the other guests.
It is quite hard to cut her out of the arrangement without upsetting your husband and mother in law, (unless you absolutely want to stand your ground and refuse!) but i think the best bet is to explain to your husband that you want an intimate occasion and can we have an extra celebration to include mother in law?
Good luck!

Yes, you can and you can have 2 parties at the same anniversary. Once you and him alone and romantic. Then you,him and his Mom, and it is okay trust me the old lady are happy and proud of her son and you who can live with each other for 25 years. By the way Con graduations to you and yours. I just passed my and it was too bad my husband and I had our bad flu so we have to stay home. Enjoy your special day and keep cool. I know how you feel and I wish you the best of this world.

You've been with this man for 25 years? If he is a "mama's boy", lord almighty bless you for holding out this long.
Is this a vacation or a night out? Has she been an important part of your life together?
I say, let her share in it. After all, she did raise the man you've been with for 25 years. It's akin to sending flowers to your mother on your birthday.

He needs to grow up, he has a wife now. Your husband does not think about you, does not care about your perspective. Make him understand, or kick him to the curb.
Let him celebrate with Mom, while you go on your own celebration. Announce that you are planning a second honeymoon, and you're taking your dad.
Or if you like being treated that way, celebrate with Mom.

Well many ppl have parties on such an ocassion, so why not share with his momma too. Afterall, if it were not 4 his momma, you'd not have hubby. Happy anniversary anyway.

You need to get him to understand that the 25 years were spent with YOU and not his mother. This is you're (both) time to celebrate and she can come along at some later time. There needs to be some time for you two together first.

What? Why would your husband want to do that? Remind him that this is to celebrate the two of you and your life together tell him he can share his birthday with his mother.
