I think that for a country that boasts being the 'greatest ever to grace the face of the planet' is the reason why most non-americans refuse to take you seriously.
How many wars have you as a country started and failed to finish? how many times did you get your arses kicked because you bit off more than you could chew?
How many innocent people have been killed due to american errors of judgement?
How many times have the rest of the world been subject to terrorist attack which has been directly funded by american money?
And to cap it all, when you are subject to a major natural disaster, you can't even be bothered to help your own citizens.
A bit hypocritical don't you think?

I used to love America and everything it used to stand for - democracy, opportunities, freedom of thought. Well, unfortunately this is not the case any more. Democracy - your last President wasn't even democratically elected. How come the most technologically advanced country in the world could not count the bulletins to see who wins the elections? And then, when it didn't matter any more, suddenly counted them - ups, the other candidate wins, but who cares!
Opportunities - probably this is still valid - once you get there (wall and all).
Freedom of thought - sure, if you think correctly and go with the main stream. Any thought remotely hinting of something unpleasant is so quickly and ruthlessly punished that you know why people there do not seem to try to do it again, I mean, think unconventionally.
A wise country is critical to itself - like the Brits and in fact most European countries.
The examples of greatness you give - are these really examples of greatness? Is this the way you want your country to be perceived - the Hitler of today? I hope you don't mean that. Think again - how many wars have the USA had on their own territory? (leaving aside the Civil War)
Last but not least, there are many countries where people actually live a comfortable, secure and dignified life, which leaves them time for vacation and for their families, for instance Australia, Canada and the countries of united Europe.
No, I don't hate Americans. But sometimes it seems they hate the world.

The rest of the world hates a bragger. You didn't "win" the second world war- you only got involved after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbour a full 2 years plus after the beginning. If you hadn't have been bombed, you never would have gotten involved because at that time your's was a very isolationest country. The French were in Vietnam for years before the Americans got involved- and they saw it was a no win situation. Of course the Americans went in, just to show everyone how it was done, and they ended up running away with their tail between their legs.
Why would we be jealous of a country where the largest majority of their people neither have, nor can afford a thing as basic as health care? Come on up to Canada- health care here is free to every citizen. We prefer to spend more of our money to save lives, not take them in an unjust war.
Trouble is, your president lies to his own countrymen( and women) and then gets re-elected. The world doesn't understand that, either.
Oh yeah, and have a nice day.

People hate america because of speeches like this... Do americans notice how aggorant they sound on a daily basis? The image they put across? The idiocracy of who they elected into power? I hate America, but like many americans, although more for the entertainment value, because I have to say no americans I have met so far have proved the stereotype wrong.
I dislike the values that are put across in american films and tv, I dislike the effect that america has had on the world, I don't like the constant american(isation) of EVERYTHING, it has to be bigger, and better, grrrrrr we have HUMMERS! Everything in america is just to be the biggest and the most intimidating, rather than the best.
America's arrogance is it's ultimate downfall. They cease to realise that they're still a young country, and it does ultimately seem that america is going through it's adolescence period, stroppy and confused.

People like you give your country a bad name.
You talk about how people are inept for hating America, yet you have your head stuck so far up your own backside that you can't see the forest for the trees.
People will judge on wht they know about things. At the moment, there is a lot of bad publicity focusing on America. Your leader has made a lot of decisions which, in hindsight, seem quite stupid.
Things will blow over, but as long as there are people like you mouthing off, ranting that "America is the bext country in the world, yadda, yadda" there'll be people who'll say the opposite. Why should we judge you fairly, when you can't do that yourself? You may not be the worst of the worst, but you definately aren't the best.

As much as I would like to blame everything on the moron squatting in our white house I can't. The USA has been the school yard bully forever. The only difference now is that we the people have access to more information and we are more aware. The USA is like the Mr. Potter of the world. We have everything we could possibly want to lead a good and wonderful life but we choose to dominate thru greed and lies. The world watches and sees what we have done throughout our history starting with our own American Indians up to and including the devastation we have caused in Iraq. They know the American people for the most part are good and kind but our governments are corrupt and power hungry and have bowed to the corporation. They don't hate the idea of America just the reality of America.

For a country so plagued by terrorism since 1776 (cna't think of any instances until the twin towers but ok) you as a nation very happily funded terrorism on British soil ever since the first world war. Open fund raisers for the IRA and other irish terror organisations were held and lauded on US soil until 8 years ago. The IRA has killed hundreds of innocents in its century of terrorist activities. I know, I fought the b#stards for a year while serving in the same british army now covering your inept armed forces in afghanistan and iraq.
Your country is hated because of individuals such as yourself with a world view so narrow it could fit through the eye of a needle.
As to benign superpower - your civil war, spanish war, korea, vietnam, haiti, all of south america, north africa, iraq, afghanistan, guantanamo bay belies this claim.
Don't trust American media - it is as far from free speech as you can get, either owned or controlled by your political parties.

American haters the world over have one thing in common. They're usually living in countries who do not enjoy the same levels of freedom and liberty which Americans do. In addition, they are lead by a bunch of goons who are little more than thuggish control freaks who've got to prove their worth by thrusting out their chests and making anti-American statements. By this method, these pompous little men hope to divert attention away from the deprivations at home and blame it all on the Yanks. And so it goes.
We have American haters right here in UK. The majority of us simply ignore them. I know that had the Yanks not joined us in 1941 then one of two things would have happened. A] the Nazis would eventually have won the war in Europe. or, B] we may have effectively landed on the beaches of Normandy in c1949 or 1950.

I personally have nothing against America itself. I have issues with George W Bush (Jr and Sr) and the politics of America.
I disagree that the USA being in the middle east is about terrorist attacks. If it was the war would be over by now, wouldn't it? You said yourself that the USA is a superpower.
I would have much greater respect for the USA if they pulled their troops out of the middle east and for ONCE in their entire history weren't at war with someone smaller than them.
I hope Obama or Hillary Clinton wins the next election. The USA needs a slight change of perspective.
