I just finished watching "MASH: Farewell, Goodbye, Amen" and am curious about somethings.

1. what year did MASH first come on tv? (not including the movie unless it launched the series).
2. How did the first episode go? has it ever been on dvd?
3. Did anyone main charectors ever die?
4. In all the spin offs (only know of Trapper John M.D.) did any of the other charectors make appearances? who and what shows?

I apreciate any answers you can give

The TV series premiered in Sept of 1972. It began with Hawkeye and Trapper trying to raise enough money to send their house boy to the states to further his education. The only main character that died on the show was Henry Blake on his way back to the states. There was a show called After MASH that continues the characters of Col. Potter. Father Mulcahy
and Klinger working @ a VA Hospital. The series lasted less than 2 seasons. There were many episodes that contradicted earlier shows mainly because the show lasted longer than the actual Korean War. And finally all 11 season are now available on dvd. Hope this helps.

--I am not sure what you are asking with this question.

The irony is that Clinger, who had always attempted to leave, decides to remain in Korea!

The movie MASH came out in 1970, and the show started in 1972 or 1973. I don't really remember the first episode. Lt. Col. Henry Blake is the only character I know of that died. The spinoff AfterMASH had Col. Potter, Klinger and Father Mulcahy in it, but it only lasted a season or two at the most. Hope this helps some.

Yes, it is on DVD and I saw some of the DVD's on Ebay.
