And i do not want to watch any mecha.

If u like seinen u can try with: Hellsing, Gantz, Fate/Stay Night, Berserker.
More romantic/comic animes are: Ranma ½, DNA2, DiGi Charat Nyo (this is a little crazy one)
Action animes are: Rurouni Kenshin (its the best anime ever, yeah!), Dragon Ball (u dont know about this!?? :P).

Chobits is good, if you don't mind a little "eechi" (which quickly takes a back seat to the mystery of Chi's past)
You can find the episodes on YouTube. The first 5 or 6 can be found in English (as well as the 6 mintue short, Chibits), and the rest can be found in Japanese with English subtitles.
I got the first 5 volumes of the manga and I'm enjoying reading them.
Triva: When Plum/Sumoro goes into her little dance, it's actually screensavor mode. It's in the manga.

I like Yu-Gi-Oh even though it's for guys but if you look deeper into it, in Japan it's really meant for teenagers. And I like Fruits Basket
