Does anyone else have the problem of their Macbooks unexpectedly shutting down? Or do you know why mine does that at times?

Are all your firmware and software up to date. I think Apple had an update addressing that problem. Run Software Update from System Preferences. If you still have warranty, give Apple a call.

Maybe this doesn't apply to you, but a friend of mine had a Macbook (Pro) that tended to overheat and shut down unexpectedly due to the x1600 card in it.

Run the software update utility, which is an option from the drop down apple menu. If you haven't run it in a while, there might be an SMC update, which will probably fix the problem...

You should definately contact Apple about it, they will most likely refund it for you.
