Hey Buddy 'O Pal.
I can feel your pain. Look at my Pens the last few years. I bought season tickets last year thinking with the pick ups we had and Mario playing we'd do some damage. But, injuries, people retiring, inconsistency!!! is huge key that didn't help us till the end of the year when it was too late. The confidence wasn't there in the beginning as well. Once we got Therrien's system down a little (this year it's in affect) they started playing better towards the end of the year.
But, your Flyers are going thru what we did for a few years. A lot of the teams will be doing this, cause this is what Bettman wants (Up and Down teams).
When we beat ya'll like 8-2 twice, it looked like no one on your team cared and just wanted to get the game over with. The last game we beat you guys in was the shoot-out and they looked completely different.
So, even though me and you have our differences, I feel what you're going thru.
How bout the Devils live in the basement instead of the PA teams, eh?

The Flyers are sort of an east coast version of the Blackhawks but at least your team has a future.
I think the Flyers are a team in transition right now, they were pretty much gutted of talent and are now slowly being put back together with trades and players from the AHL club. I really liked the trade for Biron and Upshall was a good pick up too. I would give them a couple of years before they are back in the playoff hunt unlike ours, that is out of it by late December every year!

Cause they are crap. It's nice to see them in the basement. That 8-2 win over the Pens was last season because this year Pens beat Flyers all 8 times they played them. Go Pens !

The Flyers are not unique!!! All teams have their ups and downs. Some teams seem to be home teams, others seem to be road teams. It comes down to the basic makeup of the team! Some guys are more relaxed on the road. Others are more relaxed at home. Some guys play like hell in regular season play, and choke in the playoffs! Other dudes struggle through regular season, and play like banshees in the playoffs. That is exactly what makes it so hard to predict what a team is going to do!!!!

It beginis with our odler defense. They show up some games and not others. The beginning of the season we had alot of older players. Now that we are trading them away and bringing on the younger faster guys we are playing better. Hatcher is draging the team down, he is old and cant even keep up with the goalin on his way to the bench. Not to mention the small nagy injuries that are keeping players out for 3-4 games at a time.

okay well you should feel really lucky that im answering this, giving that im a pens fan. I think that it sometimes comes down to the fans. The flyers to me just seem like themost hated team in the nhl and i mean the pens are in philly but maybe the fans are bailing on them? yeah im not a flyers fan i dont go to philly but i do know that the fans help the pens pull through sometimes. when they score and we get all jazzed in the stands, they score again...and when we start cheering they make plays and score. so maybe their fan base isnt exactly the best it has been at t iimes.
sorry if you hate me cause im a pens fan. haha.

Blackhawks do this also but have been doing it for 10 years now. There is no rational explanation.
