I need to get the ball joints replaced on my truck but don't know what type to order, any help is greatly appreciated. It's a 98 Ranger, just a 2WD 4 cyl.

There are two types actually Mark! But thank you for your comment. I'm glad it isn't rocket science, heaven only knows what you would have said then.

It depends on what type of front suspension you have. Make sure you ascertain whether you have a coil spring front suspension, or a torsion bar front suspension, since that model year of Ranger came equipped with either as a possibility.

Ball joints for a 98" Ranger 2WD. It's not rocket science. There is only one type.

You may need complete upper control arms if the upper ball joints have not been replaced before.

Look under ur truck see if you have torsion bars going to the spindle/control arms or coil springs on the lower control arms.

Then go to the autoparts store and order them
