Read Genesis 9:6 and tell me why Christians are wrong about the death penalty! Guess what: the 6th commandment-you shall not kill-doesn't apply to the death penalty! This verse proves that! THE GOVERNMENT IS ALLOWED TO KILL THOSE WHO HAVE KILLED!!!

In addition, please answer these questions:
-Where's the "vengeance" in it?
-Where's the "unfairness" in it? Don't you understand that people like O.J can AFFORD top-of-the-line lawyers just like Magic can afford top health care?
-Why should we give a rat's *** about the criminals family? What about the victim’s family?
-How are criminals and the government on the same level as each other when it comes to "who has the right to kill"? Why shouldn't the government be allowed to kill heinous murders when they are an authority established by God to keep order and administer justice? It's like Jesus said: "Give to Caesars what is Caesars, and give to God what is God's." GOD ALLOWS GOVERNMENT TO KILL! PERIOD!
-Why does it matter if the death penalty is a deterrent or not? THE PUNISHMENT SHOULD FIT THE CRIME!
-And finally, why should we effin care if only 120 people out of the thousands put on death row are innocent? WE'RE HUMANS! WE MAKE MISTAKES! TO BAD!!!

Oh, and I know that you liberals are going to accuse me of being heartless when I say that we shouldn’t care if there’s been 120 innocent people on death row, so here’s my response to that:
Just because there's been 120 people proven innocent doesn't mean that we should abandon all methods of punishment-especially the death penalty! That argument is terrible-you might as well not put people in jail at all, because (sarcasm)"what if they're innocent?"(end sarcasm). THEY WERE CONVICTED DANG IT!!

"So, in reality you're basing your political opinion on religious beliefs? To me, it seems that you too, like Bush, have difficulty in separating church and state. Just because you say the Bible says it is okay to kill those who have killed does not justify it in the eyes of the law."
I'm not trying to justify the death penalty based off the Bible, I'm trying to point out that you liberals who say that God is against the death penalty are full of crap!
My justification for the death penalty is this: why should those who have commited crimes against humanity (rape, child molestation, etc) deserve to live? Why? Why? Why?

"Extremists will always find a way to try and validate their desperate opinions. You, too, had done the same thing."
So you are saying that being for the death penalty is "extreme"? Wow! You need to wake up and face reality! There are many people that want these evil demons exterminated-and exterminated painfully!

"second, how would you feel if your father, husband/boyfriend, brother, etc that was wrongfully executed?"
My father is a born-again Christian just like me, and my husband will be the same way (I would never marry a non-believer), so although I would be deeply hurt for a brief period, I would get the security and assuradness of knowing that I will see them in heaven one day!

"When Christ died for the sins of the people, his teachings made the teachings of the Old Testament null and void." WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!!
Jesus did eliminate SOME parts of the Old Testement (such as the majority of Leviticus) but he by NO means eliminated ALL of the Old Testement! That would be contradictory to Matthew 5:17!
And remember, ALL scripture is God -breathed (2nd Timothy 3:16)!

"Either believe in it all or don't believe at all, your choice."
I DO believe it all (either from a historical or moral perspective) but I'm allowed to emphasize different parts more than others! As long as I believe it all, it doesn't matter what I choose to strongly emphasize!

Well than, I'm going to assume that you are just SO DOWN-RIGHT ANTI-AMERICAN that you would set free all these disgusting, perverted, convoluted demons!
It is YOU who deserves to die, not me! How can you NOT believe in evil?
You disgust me!

"Read the Beatitudes. Your hardened heart of hatred is revealing more about your insecurities and your unhappiness in your life than it reveals anything about liberals or the Bible."
What do the Beatitiudes have to do with the Death penalty? Where does Jesus outlaw Genesis 9:6?
I'll tell you where: NEVER!
Now as for me, I'am about as confident in my opinion and in my beliefs as anybody on the face of the planet! I'm a glass-half-full kind of gal! I just feel like people like you who want to destroy the American way of life and the Christian way of life must be dealt with forcefully and harshly! You get it?
By the way, you aren't a TRUE Christian; you completely ignore the ENTIRE Old testement, and 2nd Timothy 3: 16 says that all scripture is God-breathed!
And that "scripture" includes Ecclesiastes 3:3 and 8, Romans chapter 1, and Revelation 2 and 19:11-21!
You can read those verses and tell me where Jesus's "uncondidtional" love is! He loves, but NOT unconditionaly!

Why are you so full of hatred and why do you advocate so much violence?. Christ was the lord of peace and love, not vengence, hatred and jealousy. He was the new covenant. Why do you rely so much on the old testement of the jealous God when Christ was the new Covenant of God to his people? Get reacquanted with Christ sweetie, so you can call yourself a Christian again. Read the Beatitudes. Your hardened heart of hatred is revealing more about your insecurities and your unhappiness in your life than it reveals anything about liberals or the Bible. BTW, America is not a theocracy. Our laws are written on the Constitution, not in the Bible. I'm just your average everyday peace loving Christian. I don't take drugs, don't need them to be happy, never have and never will.
Peace.

The Bible is loaded with violent intolerance. I sure hope you don't follow everything it suggests.
For instance, in Deuteronomy 13:12-18, God tells his followers to kill anyone of a different religion (including children). In Numbers 31:1-18, God tells the Israelites to slaughter all the men of a nation that has surrendered(including babies) as well as the women who aren't virgins, and then to pass out those who are virgins to the soldiers in the army (no limits on age here, please note).
Additionally, please note that the Bible says children who talk back to their elders should be executed, as should people who shave their heads or get tattoos. Plus, it says that if a man rapes a virgin, he should pay her father and marry her.
Being a Biblical literalist will get you tossed in prison mighty quick.

Personally, i agree with the death penalty. What I don't believe in is picking and choosing what parts of the Bible to believe in, such as " Judge not, lest ye be judged". Sorry, I didn't see that part in your argument. Either believe in it all or don't believe at all, your choice.

No sorry you are wrong.
When Christ died for the sins of the people, his teachings made the teachings of the Old Testament null and void.
Same way that we are allowed to eat "unclean" animals and work on the sabbath, and menstrating women dont have to be separated during that period.
Find a NT verse that backs up your claim please.
