So I realized a few weeks ago that I'm using way too much pressure to play high notes on my trumpet, so I back off the hand pressure and noticed a good difference in tone and everything, but my lips got tired faster. I figured it was the muscles getting used to less pressure on the mouth, but this week I haven't been able to really hit anything about a G. I think I used to have an open embachure and now I'm switching to a closed one, but it's a rough change. I'm practicing like crazy this week because I NEED to have a high D by numerous concerts and recitals in the coming weeks. If anyone has tips as to how long this change will take before I can play high again or tips as to excercises to work my lips, please gimme some help here.

Mouthpiece size isn't an issue. I've been playing a 1 1/2 C for a year now and have easily been able to hit a D. I have troubles going high even on a 3C. I'm in college so I know almost every excercise in existance to increase range including slurs and long tones and flows and carmine studies. I was wondering more about the technicalities of embachure changes and how long it takes to adjust to a close embachure.
