Best aftersales support has got to be hp. We use hp at work and they are all quick to respond. Problem with support is that the software only has a limited warranty where as the hardware is 12 months. How do you define a software fault from a hardware fault unless you know about computers, especially when some software faults could be a hardware fault and vice versa.

I bet none of us would have half as many problems if we stayed off the internet lol. Best thing you can do with every pc is back up your files then every 3 months re-install windows. Its amazing what crap you pick up even with the best anti virus and spyware.

If you buy from pc world, currys or comet you ring them if you have a problem and they will sort it out for you so doesn't really matter what you buy unless you buy online.

Whatever you buy make sure that you create a master cd/dvd when you first switch it on so if you have a problem you can restore the factory settings from the day you got it. Can't believe there are so many people who DON'T do that. How are they going to install windows if they get a hard drive failure?????

We have 2 Acers in our family and looking at buying a third, so who cares what Acer support is like when they make such fantastic laptops. Hope this helps

i imagine that Toshiba are the great. i'd take an Acer or Sony over a Dell any day. It fairly relies upon on what you're utilizing your workstation for, some manufacturers are more advantageous powerful for shows and photos even as others are strong for person-friendly artwork and information superhighway surfing.

I use an ACER as my main computer but I have a Dell Laptop.
With crosed fingers, I have had no problems with either although my old server Orange were useless so I moved to Vodaphone - Fantastic deal.

Your support can come from the store you buy from. We bought an ACER laptop from Circuit City & they were wonderful with any questions or problems we had.

ACER is good my mom has a laptop. We got hers from Wal-Mart for Christmas. It's amazing. We haven't had a problem yet. So I would go with that and if you have problems you can go back to Wal-Mart cause there people there in the eletrics are amazing they help me tons.
