please i need to know becuase i just made my first purchase on ebay

the seller has to pack and ship it.
thats the first delay
the second delay is the delivery from the carrier.
so depending on how reliable the seller and carrier is, you can get it fast, or slow
some are next day, some are next week

don't panic yet.. the system works pretty good.
First of all did you use Paypal? that is best way to go.. if you paid by money order make sure you kept the receipt. print out the auction you just won. Attach your paypal or money order receipt to it and file it. You should get your item (depending on how fast it was shipped) within 2 weeks of purchase its usually sooner but lately snail mail had been slow. Email with the seller first, if there is no response.
Go to Ebay to the HELP tab put in' purchase not received'.
It will take you to a form. You will need to show them what auction it was first through the item number.. then you have a month to resolve the issue.. First you email the seller then, they do if there is no response, they will give you your money back through Paypal. I think if you have your receipt you will get your money order money too.
Most of the dealers are honest and forthright. They will do anything to help you out if the item gets broken in transit or your not satisfied with the purchase.
There is always scammers so avoid overseas transactions until you get to know the Ebay territory and also check how their feedback looks a 100-95% is the best and they will want to keep their feedback high in order to sell again!

it really depends on what u purchase. light items (0-5 lbs) are sent thru the mail and take 2-3 weeks. heavier items(6-100) are shipped using UPS, FEDEX, ect, and take5 days- 4 weeks. it also depends where the product is purchased from i. e. state, ect

it all depends on the seller .. some are faster than others ...
sometimes I have received next morning (wow) .. but normally allow 3/4 days
