obviously pete is a couple years behind...very good is the answer....they got the biggest free agent signing in this off season, nate clements, as well as other solid players such as banta cain and ashley lelie.....remember they were very young last year and they almost made it, and vernon davis was a rookie last year, plus he was injured for the most part...frank gore had a break out year...one of the to 5 RB's last year...i would say their the favorite in the division

well there chances are pretty good for the 07 season. The reason i say that is because the 49ers added some key players from top ranked defenses onto there on there team. i feel that with the addition of the former Bills cornerback, the former safty from the eagles, the Lb from the Patriots and nose tackle from the ravens will help the 49ers become a dominate defense in the nfc west.i feel that the major team that the 49ers will have to worry about will be the cardinals. they have a lot of wepons to go along with a young talented qb. if we can manage them then we will be in the playoffs.

I would say something around 30%. The team is much improved but still isn't up to snuff with everyone else. They play the AFC North which isn't a easy division by any means. Gore isn't going to surprise anyone this year, I don't see him having more than 1550 yards. He also has to correct his fumbling problem, his fumbles cost the 9ers atleast 3 games. The biggest issue is how the offense handles yet another new coordinator and if the addition of Clements and Lewis can make this crappy secondary decent. Looking at the Opponents I can see them winning at most 3 away games and with luck 4 home games giving them 7-9 record and missing the playoffs. Obivously they could do better but I think its more likely they revert then improve.

obviously pete doesnt know sh!t. i say the 9ers have a good chance at the playoffs especially since they play in probably the weakest division in pro football. they swept seattle, they have the talent to sweep the rams like they did 2 years ago, only arizona has our number. but since we upgraded our defense significantly and will continue to do so in the draft, we finally have someone to rush leinart and cover fitz or boldin. the trio of smith, gore, and davis can only get better from here on out, even with that traitor norv turner.

I looked at their schedule and they are going 11-5. There defense is going to be the top 10 and alex smith is going to throw 3, 500 plus yards, 1,000+ going to vernon davis, 1,000+ going to Lelie. Franky G is going to get 2,200 yards and the 49ers are going to the superbowl.

I'd say about 75%. They do play in the worst division and worst conference in the NFL so it shouldn't be all that hard. I'd say they go 9-7 (Barrowing injuries of course). In the NFC, thats playoffs.

I would say they have a very good chance if Frank Gore and Alex Smith stay healthy. They are in a weak division where anything can happen.

I think they've got a more than decent chance, around 70%. I was actually rooting for them to take the NFC West this season. I can't remember, but wouldn't one more game have done it? Sorry, drank quite a bit this weekend.

Cheers!
